New to RankMath, appreciate the support.
I created a Google Search Console account for my new website, integrated it with RankMath, and then connected RankMath to a new Google Analytics account (both green lights on). Unlike my previous sites without Rank Math, I don’t see real-time traffic on my RankMath widget (mine).
I assumed RankMath generates this new Google Analytics account? Should I have set up a separate Google Analytics account and then linked it to RankMath?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please note that in the free version of the Rank Math plugin, we fetch the analytics data every 7 days whereas in the PRO version of the plugin, it is done every 3 days.
However, if the data on your website doesn’t get updated after 7 days, then you can follow this guideline and see if that works for you: https://rankmath.com/kb/delete-old-analytics-data/
Regarding the Google Analytics account, can you please confirm if you’ve created a new GA4 account by using Rank Math? If so, then you can follow this guideline for further steps: https://rankmath.com/kb/using-ga4/#ga4-property
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you. Thanks for your reply! Yes, I created Google Analytics via RankMath.
In the meantime, I tested my website for Google Tags-there were not any. I thought maybe RankMath does not create any Google Tags. So, I decided to tackle that issue. The following process has been very complicated for me, so any feedback is highly appreciated.
1- I tested the website for Google Tags – and there were none. So, I set up a new Google Tag Account.
2- I connected this Google Tag Account to my website using Header and Footer Code Manager Plugin.
3- I created a new tag (new Google Tag for G4 – not created Google G4 events).
4- I connected Google Analytics via Measurement ID on Google Analytics.
5- Tested for tags on my HomePage using Tag Assistant Legacy Chrome Extension – got the Green Tag.However, when I click Webstream in Google Analytics, I still get this message: “Data collection isn’t active for your website. If you installed tags more than 48 hours ago, make sure they are set up correctly.”
Have I followed the right steps? Is there anything I should have done differently?
Thanks
Hello,
Can you please share your website URL with us so that we can check the issue further for you?
However, please note that Rank Math can also add the analytics code on your website when you enable the Install analytics code option in Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics
Also, please make sure you’re viewing the correct properties on Google Analytics.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this! “Install Analytics Code” was off. Turning it on.
Currently,
1- Tag Assistant Legacy shows both Google Tag Manager and Global Site Tag (js). Google Tag Manager is green but Global Site Tag (js) is blue – it says “Invalid or missing account ID”2- I can see real-time data of my own now.
Can you kindly check if all is properly set up for GA4?
Thanks again for all your help.
Hello,
We have checked your website and everything seems to be set up correctly. However, we noticed that you have both Google Analytics tag (G-*******74Q) and Google Tag Manager (GTM-*****H32) connected to your website.
Please make sure that you are not adding your Google Analytics tag to your Google Tag Manager as well. This would be a double installation and it would interfere with the analytics code that we are already adding to your website when you activated the Install Analytics Code option. If you are using Google Tag Manager to install your analytics code, please disable this option in Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We are always happy to assist you.
Thank you so much for all your help! Really appreciated.
At this point, as a non-technical person, I am not sure if I added my Google Analytics tag to my Google Tag Manager as well.
All I know is, before I activated “Install Analytics Code” button on Rankmath, I was not able to see the real-time visitors on the site (ie. my own visit). Right after the installation, I was able to see the number (ie. my visit = 1).
What steps should I follow to make sure that I do not add the GA Tag to GTM and that double counting doesn’t occur? Sorry for asking about this, but I feel lost, the process has become too complicated for me. So, again, thank you for your help.
Hello,
Please navigate to Google Tag Manager > Workspace > Tags and check if you can see any Google Analytics tags there. If you can, please remove it.
Thank you for choosing Rank Math
Thank you for your reply. I followed the steps you suggested. The system error message is:
Cannot delete tag Web Stream – This tag is managed by Google Analytics. To delete it, you must delete Destination XXXX in Google Analytics.
Sending you screenshot as well.
I managed to delete the tag. Thanks for your patience and your help.
