Upon investigation, the category selection function is indeed not working when Rank Math is enabled. However, when selecting None in the Primary Taxonomy for that post type, it seems to be working fine.
We have already forwarded this to our development team for further checking and we’ll get back to you shortly.
I have left the Rank Math plugin disabled as well upon troubleshooting.

Just circling back here, our developers are still looking into this to resolve the issue and we are still yet to fix it.
The issue here is that our plugin’s primary category selector is conflicting with the theme or the IMDb movie data fetcher.
