To resolve this issue, you can easily select the primary category when editing a post with the help of the Rank Math SEO plugin. Here’s how you can do it:
- Open the Post/Page/Product in your WordPress dashboard.
- Choose more than one category from the list of available categories in the sidebar of your editing post screen.
- Choose the Category radio button to set your primary category in the case of Classic Editor. For Block Editor, set your primary category from the drop-down list.

To show the Primary Category option for your post, head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post > Primary Taxonomy and set it to Categories.
