My collaborator cannot save the draft after filling in fields such as focus keyword, title, meta description, etc. After saving the draft, the previously filled information is automatically not saved. Is there any way to extend this feature?
-
Hello,
I’m sorry to hear about the issue your collaborator is facing with saving WordPress post drafts after filling in fields like focus keyword, title, and meta description. This issue could be due to various reasons, such as plugin conflicts or JavaScript-related errors.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can follow these steps:
-
Plugin Conflicts: Plugin conflicts can sometimes prevent the saving of SEO details. You can check for plugin conflicts by following our guide on plugin conflict resolution.
-
JavaScript-Related Errors: JavaScript errors can also cause issues while saving SEO details. You can diagnose JavaScript errors in the browser console. Here’s how to check JavaScript errors in Chrome.
If after following these steps the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
When this happens it’s usually caused by some sort of blockage on the route to save the metadata on the website.
While saving the data please keep the browser console open in the “Network” tab and see what is the status code of the following route:
https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user
You can find the browser console in your browser following this guide: https://balsamiq.com/support/faqs/browserconsole/
If it’s returning any other value than a 200, there’s something wrong with the route and we would request that you follow the steps here: https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
I deactivated the Wordfence security plugin and the above problem ended. Now I want to keep the Wordfence security plugin activated, but users as collaborators can still save drafts when filling in fields such as Focus keyword, Meta description, Title. … Please list the details so I can proceed
Hello,
You’ll have to whitelist the URL using the Live Traffic tool of WordFence to apply it to all the user-roles. To do so, navigate to WordFence → Tools → Live Traffic, as shown below.
Next, find the rule that got blocked by the firewall and click on ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST, as shown below.
The following are Rank Math routes:
/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateSchemas /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateRedirection /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getFeaturedImageId /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getHead
Please refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/whitelist-rank-math-in-wordfence/
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Ike, you are amazing, this is the first time I have received dedicated support like this.
As a side note, can you give me some advice on this issue? I’m quite confused about that decision, “I’m a new SEOer and I’m quite young, I’m wondering if I should learn Python or PHP now to Support my future SEO career. Can you help me with direction? Ike”❤️Hello,
Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad we could assist you.
Regarding your question about learning Python or PHP to support your future SEO career, both have their benefits.
Python is useful for tasks like analyzing data, automating processes, and scraping websites for information. Learning Python can help you develop tools and scripts to analyze large datasets, automate repetitive tasks, extract data from websites, and even build custom SEO tools.
On the other hand, PHP is the backbone of many content management systems (CMS), including WordPress, which powers a significant portion of websites on the internet. Having a good understanding of PHP can be valuable if you’re working with WordPress or other PHP-based CMS platforms. It allows you to customize websites, create plugins, and troubleshoot issues more effectively.
The choice between Python and PHP depends on what you want to do in SEO. If you’re into data analysis and automation, Python is great. If you’re more into website development and WordPress, PHP is better.
We recommend exploring both languages to see which one aligns better with your career aspirations and interests. Many resources are available online for learning both Python and PHP, including tutorials, courses, and documentation.
In addition to learning more about the programming languages Python and PHP, what else do I need to learn to support this job? Ike, can you advise me on a clear roadmap so I can make a plan for the future? My hybrid does not. I have nothing but a heart full of learning, but I have the problem of learning unnecessary things so I have to trade a lot of time 🙁 . Thank you very much Ike. God will match those things people like you…

Thank you very much. Currently I’m having a problem: one of my pages is automatically redirecting to the homepage, even though I didn’t link this page to the homepage in Rankmath, and this page has the url :domain/ftrain, but when I go to Changing its url will automatically change the page url to domain/ftrain-3 and the original url domain/ftrain will continuously automatically point to the home page. Can you give me detailed instructions on how to fix it…
Hello,
When you change the initial URL
domain/ftrain
, it becomes unavailable and should lead to an error 404 page. However, Rank Math has a built-in redirection manager that helps you get rid of 404 and other errors. In this case, there is a possibility that you have set the fallback behavior to redirect any 404 page to your homepage. You can check this by going to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections as shown in the image below:
However, to redirect
domain/ftrain
to the new URL which isdomain/ftrain-3
, then you need to set up the redirection following this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-redirect-posts-after-changing-urls/We hope this helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
I don’t turn on automatic redirection, but the domain/ftrain url still points to the homepage even though it’s not set in direct

Hello,
Apologies for the inconvenience.
This usually happens when the Redirect Attachments option is enabled on your site, and you have a media or attachment URL with the same slug.
If that is the case, you can re-upload the media with a different file name (/ftrain) or at least rename the attachment URL to a different slug.
Let us know how this goes.
