    Dear Rank Math,

we use your plugin nad it is fantastic in principle.

But we have the issue that the destop description on Google is perfect, but the site description on the mobile Version is quiet terrible.

    Our Homepage: https://www.liebeshund-shop.com

Can you help us with this problem so that the mobile description on google is the same as the desktop one?

Thanks a lot and have a wonderful day.

    Greetings
    Bastian

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about the different site descriptions on Google between desktop and mobile versions. We appreciate your feedback and are here to assist you.

To ensure that the site description on Google is consistent across both desktop and mobile versions, you need to optimize the meta description for mobile devices as well. While Rank Math provides a preview for desktop and mobile, Google ultimately decides how to display the information.

You can follow these steps to optimize the meta description for mobile devices using Rank Math:

    1. Access the Rank Math plugin on your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Navigate to the post or page for which you want to optimize the meta description.
    3. Click on the Rank Math SEO meta box.
    4. Ensure that the meta description is concise and relevant for mobile users.
    5. Preview the mobile version of the meta description to ensure it fits within the character limit.

If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, please update this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for using Rank Math, and we wish you a wonderful day!

    Best regards

Thank you for your support. But it doesn´t work. Our mobile Version is correct in Rank Math but not on Google

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We tried to check your website by looks like there is a typo in the URL. Could you please share the correct website URL so that we can check this further for you?

However, please note that nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta description or no description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

    Hello,

This is a common issue that many Google users face these days. Google often changes the meta titles and descriptions of the web pages in its search results, regardless of what you have set in your meta tags. Google usually does this when it thinks another description on your page best fits the search intent. For example, when using the Google Rich Result test, Google currently shows the correct meta description for your website. Screenshot:

This shows that it can read the correct description but is choosing to use a different one instead. You can try resubmitting your site for indexing using the URL Inspection Tool to see if it helps, but this affects about 70% of the results and we have a detailed article that explains why this happens and how you can fix it: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

We also have another article that covers the Google update that introduced this change and how it affects your SEO strategy: https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

We hope this helps you understand the situation better and resolve the issue. Please feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance or have any questions. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!
