Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The best strategy for deleted pages would be redirecting them to 410. This redirection should be used when a page has been has been deleted, and no suitable replacement is available. When search engines encounter a 410 status, they also de-index the page naturally.
Kindly go through this guide for more information:
https://rankmath.com/kb/redirect-types/#410-content-deleted
Please note that it may take a few days to weeks for deleted content to be removed from search results.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Thanks for the fast response,
But what should I do if my page its already been deleted from my website, how am I going to redirect to 401 if there’s no page?
Also I would love to know if there’s a way to trigger the refresh or request a re-indexing of my pages (in case there’s nothing I can do for my deleted page), or how can I know that the search results are in progress.
Thank u again for the support.
Hello,
Please note that if those URLs are already showing on the search results, it will take some time for search engines to remove them from the search results page if they are already indexed.
In case you wanted important/specific links to be removed immediately, you can use the page removal tool in your Google Search Console account
