Deactivating the free plugin breaks the styling on the website

    Rank Math free

    Hi there

I deactivated the free Rank Math plugin and it immediately broke all the styling on the site. I didn’t initially realise that’s what caused it as I’d done updates on a number of plugins so ended up restoring a backup. However, I then deactivated again and the same thing happenned. Reactivating it fixed the styling.

So I’m now in the awkward position where I can’t remove the free plugin at all.

How can this be fixed? I’m happy to continue using Rank Math (I only deactivated it because I heard about the security vulnerability so wanted to stop any risk as quickly as possible) but I now have the latest version installed so the pressure is off. However, I can’t have the situation where I can’t remove the plugin in the future should the need ever arise.

Please advise how I should proceed.

The site is chapelandchapel.co.uk in case that’s helpful.

    Many thanks

    Jon

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with deactivating the free Rank Math plugin on your website chapelandchapel.co.uk. It seems that deactivating the free plugin is causing styling issues on your site.

Based on our knowledge base, deactivating the free version of Rank Math can lead to such issues as both the free and PRO versions need to be active for the plugin to work correctly. To address this problem, I recommend keeping both versions active for now. If you encounter any security concerns, please rest assured that we regularly release updates to address vulnerabilities promptly.

If you still wish to proceed with removing the free version in the future, please reach out to our support team by assigning this ticket to a human agent using the available buttons. They will guide you through the process and ensure a seamless transition without affecting your site’s styling.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding.

    Rank Math free

    Hi again

I no longer have a Pro subscription so I removed the pro plugin as I can no longer update it. The site seems to be working nicely with just the free plugin but your bot reply suggests that’s not an option.

Therefore, please can you let me know how I can safely remove the free version without affecting the styling so I have that option in the future.

    Cheers

    Jon
