    I have links like:
y.com/category/xyz but I want this to be y.com/blog/xyz
y.com/category/abc but I want this to be y.com/writing/abc

I want to start the links with my category of each custom post type so that it doesn’t become just y.com/post-name or title

I want it to be y.com/page name or category name/post name or title

  • Hello, I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with custom permalinks. You can easily achieve this by changing the permalink structure in WordPress. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Go to SettingsPermalinks in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Click on the radio button next to the Custom Structure option.
    3. Enter the desired structure using available tags like %category%, %postname%, etc.
    4. Click on Save Changes to apply the new permalink structure.

By following these steps, you can customize the permalinks to start with the category of each custom post type, as per your requirement.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask!

    I meant permalins changes

    Hello,

If your website is new and you do not have much traffic then it must be fine.

However if you have several visits in the old structure then you must add regex rules to redirect the old foramt to the new format using the Rank Math Redirection module.

The htaccess file does not need to be changed for this at all.

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
