Can’t connect to Google services

    Hi!

I somehow have issues connecting to Google services (I always get a red dot in the settings for the search console and analytics). I revoked the permissions in my google account and tried to reestablish the connection (while giving all the permissions Rank Math asked for of course). Yet I get this message after trying to connect:
“Data import will not work for this service as sufficient permissions are not given.”

You can find my error log via the link below.

    I would appreciate your help!
    Thanks,
    Julius

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing issues connecting to Google services even after revoking and reestablishing permissions in your Google account for Rank Math.

If you have already tried revoking and reestablishing permissions in your Google account and are still unable to connect, I recommend following these steps:

    1. Test Connections:

      • Go to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics.
      • Click on the Test Connections option at the top right of the Analytics settings to validate the existing connections. A green signal indicates a valid connection, while a red signal indicates a glitch.
      • If you see a red signal, reconnect your Google account by clicking on the Reconnect link.
    2. Update Data Manually:

      • If the data fetch doesn’t happen automatically, choose Update data Manually in the Analytics settings.
    3. Rebuild Index for Analytics:

      • Head over to Database Tools and click on Rebuild Index for Analytics.
    4. Check Analytics Data:

      • Open the Analytics dashboard by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Analytics and verify if the data is present.

If the issue persists after following these steps, please open a support ticket here and share the error log with us for further assistance.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Hi!

Thanks for the answer! I tried the following steps:
    1. Revoking permissions on Google and reconnecting to Google services. Afterwards the connection to Google search console seems to be working, the one for Analytics still doesn’t.
    2. I updated the analytics database manually and rebuilt it afterwards.

…yet there seems to be no connection to analytics.

Can you help me fix it?
    Thanks, Julius

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please ensure that you have verified your email/account as the owner of the property. Go to your Google Search Console > Settings > Users and permissions:

Once done, please follow the steps from this guideline to reconnect your Google account again with the Rank Math and see if that works for you: https://rankmath.com/kb/analytics-issues/#expired-google-oauth-token

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Yet the issue persists.
    Any other ideas?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We checked your website and first, we’ve found a conflict with the Real Media Library plugin you’re using on your website. When this plugin is activated, the General Settings page of Rank Math doesn’t load properly.

Please get in touch with this plugin support and inform them about this issue.

However, regarding the analytics connection issue, we can the correct version of your website is the non-www version but you connected your Google Search Console with the www version of your website.

You can follow this guide on how to verify the correct version of your website in GSC: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

Also, we can see your Analytics account is not showing the Rank Math Analytics drop-down. Here’s how you can create an Analytics account for your website: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9304153?hl=en

Once done, reconnect the Google account again from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and configure the Search Console and Analytics settings again.

Kindly check all necessary checkboxes to allow Rank Math to access some of the Google Services.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
