    Rank Math free

    Hallo dear RankMath-Team,

Google still doesnt show the meta descriptions i inserted in WordPress classic Editor using RankMath. I just realised that I cant update the Schema-Builed to take %seo_description% as description. I cant put any other name in here but this one turns out to be blank every time I update the page. Is it okay to use any other name or do I need to turn of any conflicting plugin that occupies the variable seo_discription? Thanks a lot!

    greetings,

    Juls 🙂

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

It is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results and we even have a KB dedicated to this problem and a few solutions we recommend:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Please check the KB and you will understand the reasons Google does this.

Google has made some changes to their algorithm which automatically changes the titles, discarding the one you have set in your SEO title meta tag. This happens regardless of the SEO plugin you are using. We have covered this Google update here:

    https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

Regarding %seo_description%, we have created few option from which you can choose any which matches your website, among those option we don’t have anything with %seo_description%. You can read about it here: https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#single-page-title or you can manually add meta description to the page.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you
