  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

The 403 Forbidden Error is a common error that you can face when trying to allow Googlebot to crawl your site. This error means that Googlebot cannot access your site’s content due to a robotic exclusion protocol, which is a set of rules that you can use to prevent certain types of web crawlers from accessing your site.

It means that some of your pages aren’t indexed because your server denied Googlebot access to them.

For more information on how to best troubleshoot this type of error, this KB may help:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.

    dear sir,
there is a continue increasing in numbers of urls in blocked due to access forbidden,
in my bluehost cpanel there is a redirect link to ads and in my htaccess file too.
it this the reason for error in indexing?

    Hello,

We have tested some URLs on your site, but we’re unable to replicate the issue.

Could you please share some affected URLs so we can check?

Meanwhile, you can try disabling the rules you have mentioned in your .htaccess files and let Google recrawl the affected URLs.

You can also try using the default WordPress .htaccess file as well for troubleshooting. Here’s the default file: https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/

Please create a copy of your current .htacess file for backup before switching to default .htacess. You can also get in touch with your web host for assistance as it is a sensitive file.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I’ve tested the page and it does seem that it’s being crawled already and it’s now indexed. I’ve used these tools as a test:
    https://www.linkody.com/en/seo-tools/google-index-checker

    https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly

I’ve added a couple of images in the Sensitive Data Section to show each of the results.

You may need to wait a couple of days/weeks (depending on the crawl budget) in order to fully index those pages.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Upon further investigation, your URLs are indeed blocking Google bot and returning a 403 error

    Blocked

Since this issue occurred when you switched hosting, then the block must be coming from your server configuration as your robots.txt rules are fine.

You can follow our guide here and get in touch with your web host to check as well:
