Auto Post Redirect is enabled but not redirecting my products after a change

    Rank Math free

    Hello!

I am looking to have my permalinks change redirected correctly, though it seems that Rankmath doesn’t seem to want to redirect automatically with the “Auto Post Redirect” even though it is enabled, and I have also disabled and re-enabled it a few times.

    The permalinks went from

    /product/

    to

    /product-cat/product

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the Auto Post Redirect feature in Rank Math. It’s important to ensure that the redirections are set up correctly to avoid any loss of traffic due to broken links.

If you’ve already enabled the Auto Post Redirect feature and it’s still not redirecting your products after a permalink change, we recommend checking the following:

    1. Ensure that the “Auto Post Redirect” option is enabled in the Rank Math settings. You can find this option by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Redirections → Auto Post Redirect.

    2. Verify that the changes to the permalinks have been saved and are reflecting correctly in your WordPress settings.

    3. Check for any conflicting plugins or themes that might be interfering with the redirection process.

If you’ve already gone through these steps and are still facing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Hello,

Please note that the Auto post redirect option only applies when you’re changing the slug of your post types.

When changing the permalink structure, WordPress should handle the automatic redirections from the old permalink structure to the new one.

If somehow, WordPress fails to create a redirection for it, you will need to create a 301 redirect for the products since their original URL has changed. Please, follow this guide to learn how to create redirections in bulk: https://rankmath.com/blog/bulk-301-redirects-wordpress/

    Looking forward to helping you.
