Author and Contributor roles can’t save on-page settings

    Hi, I recently installed this plugin and love it, but I have come across a strange issue: team members with the Author or Contributor role are unable to save their on-page changes. When submitting an article for review or saving it as a draft, everything Rank Math related is wiped out. This ONLY happens in Block Editor, not Classic Editor, and again only users who are not an Administrator or Editor role.

    Is this a known issue? Is there any sort of workaround?

    Do you have the Rank Math’s Role Manager module enabled? You can check it in your Rank Math plugin Dashboard:
    null

    If so, it could be the reason, be sure to check its settings so each role has the correct permissions.

    Hello,

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it could be a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Please let us know if you find the culprit.

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Oddly, entering Troubleshooting mode in that plugin doesn’t work at all. I get a message saying it is enabled, then it sends me back to the WP Dashboard where it’s not enabled. I tried it several times, nothing.

    Hi Patrick,

    The issue seems to be only on your install.

    When I tested it on my test website, an author profile could add title and description without any issue:

    This means one of your plugins might be causing this.

    No, usually we would do troubleshooting following this guide:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    But, the changes are only shown to the admin. So, it won’t make any difference for authors.

    I would request you to disable all plugins and enable each one by one until you find the problematic plugin.
