I have enabled add missing ALT attributes but it isn’t working. For example, see the page linked in sensitive data.

I have the image alt setting set to ‘on’ and the format is as follows: %title% – Image %count(varname)% Can you advise why alt is still blank on all my custom post type ‘Locations’ pages?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing with the “Add Missing ALT Attributes” feature. We understand the importance of having ALT attributes for images and we’re here to help.

It seems that you have already enabled the “Add Missing ALT Attributes” feature and set the format correctly. However, it’s possible that the issue might be specific to your custom post type “Locations.”

To further investigate this issue, we recommend checking if the images on your custom post type “Locations” pages are added within the post or page content. The “Add Missing ALT Attributes” feature only adds ALT text for images added in post or page content, and it will not do so for images used in headers, sidebars, footers, etc.

If the images are added within the post or page content and the ALT attributes are still not being added, please provide us with more details about the specific images and their placement on the “Locations” pages. This will help us better understand the issue and provide you with a more accurate solution.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi there, most of them have just a ‘Featured image’ but those are also missing alt tags – does it not work for featured images or galleries?

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
