3XX redirect in sitemap

    I was conducting a site-audit on Ahrefs.

    I have over 848 links on my site. How can I remove these 3XX re-directs from my site mao?

    According to Ahrefs:

    Issue details

    URLs included in sitemap file that redirect.

    Sitemap must list all the pages you want search engines to crawl and index.

    Redirecting URLs in sitemaps can result in indexability issues on your website.

    How to fix

    Replace the redirecting URLs in the sitemaps with the destination URL. If the destination URL is already listed, simply remove the URL that redirects to it from the sitemap file.

    Hello,

    You should only remove those redirects if there are no links pointing to those old pages on Google or on other websites.

    That is because if you remove redirections and the pages don’t exist, you will have a lot of 404 errors.

    If you still want to remove redirections and they have been done with Rank Math, you can remove then in the Redirections panel in the Rank Math dashboard.
