Hello, I’d like to change from Yoast See to Rankmath. But when I try to import all Yoast Data it doesn’t work. When I deactivated Yoast See Plugin and connected Rankmath completely I checked Meta Data in Pages in Posts. There where no meta data, unfortunately. Do you have an idea how I can solve this problem?

    Kind regards
    Ronald

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with importing Yoast SEO data into Rank Math. To ensure a successful migration of data from Yoast SEO to Rank Math, you can follow these steps:

    1. Deactivate Yoast SEO Plugin: Make sure to deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin before proceeding with the migration. During the setup wizard of Rank Math, you will have the option to deactivate Yoast SEO and import the data.

    2. Import Data from Yoast SEO: If you missed importing data during the setup wizard, you can use the Rank Math Import & Export feature. Here’s how:

      • Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools → Import & Export.
      • Choose the Other Plugins section and select the data you want to import from Yoast SEO.
      • Click on the Import button and confirm the import process.

    1. Recalculate SEO Scores: After importing, you can choose to recalculate SEO scores for posts set as N/A.

If you encounter any errors during the process, you can refer to our detailed tutorial on how to handle errors during the import process. You can find more information in our knowledgebase article.

Following these steps should help you successfully import your Yoast SEO data into Rank Math. If you need further assistance or encounter any issues, please let us know by replying to this ticket.

    Hello,

I added two new screenshots so maybe you know what I mean: https://imgur.com/noDqAjl

It affects all pages and posts so it doesn’t matter where you look. When I start to edit the snippet I see that the meta content doesn’t match the Yoast SEO meta content.

Please don’t forget deactivating Rankmath SEO Plugin und activating Yoast SEO Plugin again when you’re finished. Last time you had a look on our site and both were activated. That’s has a bad effect in our SEO.

    Kind regards
    Ronald

    Hello,

Thank you for following up on this. We have investigated this again and the metadata is the same on Yoast and Rank Math for the post we checked. Here’s a short video of us switching between Yoast and Rank Math and checking the post’s metadata: https://i.rankmath.com/v/fYwuZQ

If you are seeing this difference on a specific post/page, please share the link with us and we’ll be happy to check it out for you.

PS: We have reactivated Yoast and deactivated Rank Math.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hey, thanks again and thanks for the video! We checked various sites and it generally seems to work. But for some reason, Rankmath takes over the metadata of a blog article (https://www.sport-sheds.de/kinder-spasswettkampf-klettern-und-bouldern/) that is displayed on the home page (https://www.sport-sheds.de). But as long as it only affects this one page, it’s not a problem. We can quickly change this manually by editing the snippet. As long as the plugin then accepts the manual change, everything is ok and we can switch over. If you like you can check the home page meta data with both plugins, then you know what we meant: https://www.sport-sheds.de.

    Hello,

We just tested the post you mentioned and we can see that the meta tags are the same whether Rank Math or Yoast is active, which means that the data was imported — unless you have already manually modified the Rank Math meta tag to match Yoast.

In any case, it looks like your meta tags are not fully imported and you can go ahead and switch. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
