Google doesn’t find sitemap

    Rank Math free

I am using default settings on RankMath for my sitemap location. But when I check my Google Search Console, it says no sitemaps found. This was set up about 2 months ago.

Since I found this issue, I have manually submitted my sitemap to Google. But why was it not indexed correctly?

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with your sitemap not being found by Google even though you’ve set up Rank Math with default settings for the sitemap location.

When Google Search Console doesn’t find your sitemap, it could be due to various reasons such as accessibility issues, caching problems, or incorrect submission. Since you’ve manually submitted your sitemap to Google and it was not indexed correctly, there might be some underlying issues preventing proper indexing.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend checking the following:

    1. Check Sitemap Accessibility: Verify if your sitemap is accessible using a tool like httpstatus.io. Enter your sitemap URL and check the status to identify any accessibility issues.

    2. Exclude Sitemaps from Caching: If your sitemap is being cached, exclude sitemaps from caching. You can refer to our tutorial on how to exclude Sitemaps from caching for detailed steps.

    3. Ensure Correct Sitemap Submission: If you haven’t submitted the correct sitemap, make sure to submit sitemap_index.xml and ensure that all inner sitemaps are showing up in Google Search Console under sitemap_index.xml.

If after checking these steps, the issue persists, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team for further assistance. Our team is available 24/7 and will help you resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We are here to assist you further if needed.

Your AI didn’t understand my query. I was letting Rankmath submit the sitemap, after Rankmath created the sitemap.

Unfortunately, Google said there was no sitempa.

In the meantime, I have manually submitted the sitemap successfully.

However, I have many sites running Rankmath and can’t submit a sitemap for each site I build.

httpsatus.io says there is no issue with: https://jamcycommunications.com/sitemap_index.xml

    What is going on?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Rank Math automatically submits the sitemap to the Google Search Console when you have connected Rank Math with GSC.

To make sure that everything works correctly please go through this article to connect your Google Account with Rank Math properly: https://rankmath.com/kb/connect-your-google-account/

Then make sure to verify using the URL prefix and ensure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    Prefix

Verifying using the URL-prefix property helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console so that it is submitted automatically for you.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.
