I set up a schema markup “product” for my website to show stars in SERPs. But the testing tool says the field “image” is missing. But I cant find a way to put it somewhere?

In WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta there is no field “products” as said in the support article.

    My website: https://meet-your-writer.com/

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the missing “image” field in your Schema markup for products on your website. To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Update the Schema Using Bulk Actions:
      • Navigate to WordPress DashboardRank Math SEOTitles & MetaProducts.
      • Set the Schema Type to WooCommerce Product and click Save Changes.
      • Then, go to WordPress DashboardProducts and select the affected products.
      • Click on the Bulk actions dropdown and select Set Schema: Default (product).
      • Finally, click Apply to apply the WooCommerce Product Schema to your products.

If you are unable to find the “products” field in the Titles & Meta section, you can also update the Schema directly from the product page:

    1. Update the Schema From the Product Page:
      • Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Products and click on the applicable product.
      • In the Rank Math SEO metabox, click the Schema icon and then click on Schema Generator.
      • Select the WooCommerce Product Schema and click Save for this Post.

By following these steps, you should be able to add the necessary “image” field to your Schema markup for products. If you encounter any further issues or need additional assistance, please let us know.

    Thank you for reaching out!

I cannot navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Products as there is no “Product” field. Maybe I should choose another schema markup? This is my site https://meet-your-writer.com/

    Hello,

The error is seen on your homepage’s schema which is set to Product Schema.

Please note that the Product Schema is only for the actual product, and not for anything else. You can check this link for more information:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product#guidelines

However, to fix the error, you may need to add a featured image to your page or a primary product image if you are editing on a product page. That image will then be used as the image for the Schema automatically.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Thank you very much. Can you tell me how to do that as i am only working with WordPress?

And is there another possibility to show the star rating in the Google SERPS like all of our competitors? Maybe by using another schema markup than product?

Thank you very much in advance!

I found it! I set a featured image and now the error is gone. Can you tell me when the stars will appear? I indexed the site and everything after works automatically right?

    Hello,

Please note that only Google can determine how results are displayed in SERP and it is up to Google to show the star rating. The results in Google search pages are controlled by Google’s algorithm. However, using Rank Math ensures that your website is indexed and available for search engines to display in search engine result pages.

However, to obtain a star rating on any type of page, we have created a dedicated guide for that. Please visit that guide here: https://rankmath.com/kb/earning-star-ratings-in-serps/

Hope this helps and do not hesitate to reach our if you have further questions.

    Thank you.
