Post redirect error and 403 error

On 3/28 I added a new post to my WP site. When in draft mode, I can preview the post in new tab. Once published, if I click “preview in new tab”, I get “Sorry, you are not allowed to preview drafts.” Clicking the view post option redirects to homepage. When I go to homepage, I see the new post available to click on (as new posts are reflected here) but again it redirects back to homepage. Hovering over it shows the correct path.
When creating a test post after this one, I get a 403 error on the test post. Redirect problem still exists for the original problem post – no additional error.
Troubleshooting included: Deactivated a plugin added a couple of months back. Checked theme. Confirmed logged in as Administrator. Confirmed permalink is correct and no inadvertent redirect exists. Cleared the cache. Hosting provider ran scan to see if malware or corruptions existed – NONE.
Went back to beginning and deactivated additional plugins (I only have 12 so didn’t think it was the ones I’ve used long term), adding back, and RankMath is the problem – confirmed 3 times. There are no RM errors in error log. RM is deactivated currently.

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with post redirection and the 403 error on your WordPress site. It seems like you have already performed some troubleshooting steps to identify the problem.

Since you have identified that Rank Math might be the cause of the issue after deactivating and reactivating plugins, it’s essential to investigate further.

Here are some additional steps you can take:

    1. Check for Rank Math Redirections: Verify if there are any active redirection rules set up in Rank Math that might be causing the redirection problem. You can do this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections.

    2. Check .htaccess File: Ensure there are no unwanted redirection rules in your .htaccess file. You can review and edit the .htaccess file using Rank Math by going to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess.

If you find any suspicious redirection rules, you can delete them and save the changes.

If the issue persists even after these steps, I recommend reaching out to our dedicated support team by opening a ticket on our support forum. Our team will assist you further in resolving the post redirection and 403 error problems you are experiencing.

Thank you for your patience and for bringing this matter to our attention. We will do our best to help you resolve these issues promptly.
