    Hello,

    Across the sites we use Rank Math on (profootballnetwork.com, collegefootballnetwork.com, and betstoday.com), our posts are not showing up in our news sitemap. Rather, they are all going to our posts sitemap.

    We can’t figure out why — it is crawlable through GSC, it is not cached, and our server (BigScoots) said everything is being crawled fine on their end.

    The last post we had on the news sitemap for Pro Football Network was on February 23 and on College Football Network, December 27.

  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your posts not appearing in the news sitemap on your website using Rank Math.

    If your posts are not appearing in the news sitemap, there could be a few reasons for this:

    1. Configuration Issue: Ensure that you have correctly configured the News Sitemap settings in Rank Math. You need to enter the name of your publication in Google News Publication Name and select the appropriate post types under News Post Type.

    2. Indexing Settings: Check if the specific posts that are not appearing in the news sitemap are set to be included in the News Sitemap. You can do this by opening the post or page, navigating to the Advanced tab in the Rank Math Meta Box, and ensuring that Google-bot News Index is set to Index.

    3. Publication Guidelines: Make sure that your posts meet the guidelines for inclusion in the News Sitemap, such as being factual news content or providing background context for a news article.

    If you have checked these points and your posts are still not appearing in the news sitemap, please feel free to reply to this ticket. A human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern.

    We have tried all this and still no luck.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

    In this case, please follow these steps to flush your sitemap cache:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. Disable the transient cache for the sitemap by applying this filter. This will make sure that your XML sitemap always reflects the latest changes on your site:

    /**
     * Filter if XML sitemap transient cache is enabled.
     *
     * @param boolean $unsigned Enable cache or not, defaults to true
     */
    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    If you’re not sure how to add this code, you can follow this guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

    Please note that only the posts published in the last 2 days are included in the News Sitemap as per Google’s News Sitemap Guidelines:

    Let us know how this goes.
