Exact keyphrase in Meta description

    Hi, I am interested to skip from Yoast to Rank Math, but there is one thing that is really bothering: the obligation to use the exact keyphrase in the meta description. Why is this so strict? Google doesn’t even look that closely, why do you? It’s not pleasant to work when everything was ‘green’ with Yoast and when we switch we suddenly have scores of 66% because the keyphrase is not exact in the meta description.

    In your forums, I read that you did this because the plugin is faster. But that doesn’t sound logical, does it? Why can Yoast and AIOSEO do it then?

    I would like to switch to your platform. But this is holding me back. Do you already know more about when this can be adjusted? Because I also read on forums that you have plans to adjust this, but that was already said 2 years ago.

    Hi, I know the exact keyphrase isn’t obligatory in the meta description, but I mean, why does Rank Math thinks it is necessary to get a positive score?

    And why is it not good to write blogs under the 600 words. Can we change that ourselves, because we have small blogs.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

    The detection of the focus keywords is a limitation that we are aware of but it’s the way the Content Analysis API was built and it cannot be changed at the moment.

    There’s definitely room for improvement there and it’s something the developers are aware but the current implementation still looks for exact matches.

    As for the word count, that guideline comes from years of experience and expertise from multiple SEO experts and SEO audits and case studies which show that to be a good balance for the length of the content.

    Obviously, those are guidelines and not hard rules so any given website might have different requirements to comply with their SEO strategy and still get good results with different values.
