Hello,
I apologize for the confusion. When you change your permalink structure in WordPress, Rank Math’s Auto Post Redirect feature will indeed create 301 redirects for each post, not just for slugs. This means that if you enable the Auto Post Redirect feature after removing categories from your URL structure, it will create 301 redirects for every post, ensuring that your indexed posts remain accessible and maintain their SEO value.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with anything else, please feel free to ask.

Posts with automatically created 301 redirects don’t show up on the Redirections module page in the plugin? Is that only for manual redirects? If so, is there somewhere I can view the redirects that were created automatically?
ALSO: I was just changing my permalinks structure and got this warning:
Rank Math Warning: Changing the permalinks on a live, indexed site may result in serious loss of traffic if done incorrectly. Consider adding a new redirection from the old URL format to the new one.
I have not saved the change yet. Is Rank Math’s Auto Post Redirect going to take care of this?
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
Please note that the Auto post redirect option only applies when you’re changing the slug of your post types.
When changing the permalink structure, WordPress should handle the automatic redirections from the old permalink structure to the new one.
Also, Rank Math does not save the redirections when changing your website’s permalinks.
If somehow, WordPress fails to create a redirection for it, you will need to create a 301 regex redirect for the posts since their original URL has changed.
And here’s a guide you can follow to create regex redirect in Rank Math:

Hope that helps.
This is the complete opposite of what your AnswerBot told me and all of the information on your website.
And from what I’ve read on your website and in your plugin, WP only creates 301 redirects when the SLUG changes, not the URL structure.
Hello,
We deeply apologize for the confusion. Please ignore the reply from RankBot. We are constantly working to make it better.
As we already mentioned above the auto post redirection from Rank Math only works for the slug of the URL, not for the permalink structure or the actual base. WordPress by default do that but only for your posts. Here Rank Math gives you this option for all of your post types.
But if you’re changing your permalink structure from WP Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks then Rank Math auto post redirection will not work here. If WordPress doesn’t redirect your URLs automatically, you’ll have to create manual redirection for your website.
You can also share some source and destination URLs with us so that we can assist you in creating the regex redirection.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
