Redirect on URL I did not implement - says RankMath did it? - Support

To whom it may concern,

I hope this finds you well and you had a great new years!

I won’t pretend to know what I am talking about because I don’t, I just know that for some reason I cannot adjust this URL (https://offgriddestinations.com/costa-rica/puntarenas/marino-ballena-national-park-2) by removing the “2” at the end. I have tried everything but it will not disappear. When reviewing the page on an online redirect checker, I am told that “rankmath” has redirected it to: https://offgriddestinations.com/costa-rica/puntarenas

I did not do this (I would not even know how) and I can’t find any record of it in the rankmath settings. Here is the analysis that was given to me by the online redirect checker:

Can you please assist me with this? How do I undo the redirect and what caused it in the forst place.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

This usually happens when the Redirect Attachments option is enabled on your site, and you have a media or attachment URL with the same slug.

If that is the case, you can re-upload the media with a different file name (/marino-ballena-national-park) or at least rename the attachment URL to a different slug.

Thank you so much for your assistance. I deleted the original image and reloaded it with a different name. It did not resolve the issue but did allow me to then delete the page and recreate a new one under the original URL so it all worked out.
