To address the 404 errors for the store pages and the automatic addition of a sitemap for stores created by Agile Store Locator, we recommend adding a redirect for these pages using the Rank Math Redirection Manager.

- Add a new redirection from Redirections → Add New.
- Add the source URL pattern as
/stores/-(d+)/ with the matching option set to Regex from the drop-down list.

You can try to set the regex redirection like the following one and see if that works for you:
Source URL: stores/-([0-9]+)
Regarding the URLs in the sitemap, you can disable the post type from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings.

turns out the issue was not with my syntax itself, but with the extra slash at the beginning.
so for others struggling with the same issue, try using the equivalent of stores/ instead of /stores/.
for the RankMatk team, maybe have a look at the RankBot background info 🙂

good to know, thanks, but i’d rather choose what gets indexed instead of hurrying to add an exclusion every time i add a new plugin/functionality/etc.
