Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your sitemap showing a 404 error. This can cause problems with Google not being able to find all the pages on your site.
To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Flush the Sitemap Cache: You can flush the sitemap cache in Rank Math to see if that resolves the issue.
- Fix Sitemap Issues on Nginx or Apache Server: Ensure that your server is correctly configured to serve the sitemap files.
- Exclude the Sitemap Files in the Caching Plugin: If you’re using a caching plugin, make sure to exclude the sitemap files from being cached.
- Add Filter to Enable/Disable Sitemap Caching: You can add a filter to enable or disable sitemap caching.
- Ensure Pages Are Set to Index: Check that your posts are set to index in Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta.
If you’re still facing issues after trying these steps, please let us know by assigning this ticket to a human agent using the available buttons, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

This is not working cant I create a new sitemap???
Hello,
In this case we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
