Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your sitemap. To fix this, you can follow these steps:
- Sign in to the Google Search Console using the same account you verified and connected the website with.
- Navigate to the “Sitemaps” section.
- Enter “sitemap_index.xml” in the “Add a new sitemap” field.
- Click on “Submit,” and your sitemap will be submitted to Google.
If you’ve already tried these steps and are still facing issues, please ensure that your sitemap is accessible using this tool. If it’s being cached, you need to exclude sitemaps from caching. You can also check if you’ve submitted the correct sitemap and ensure that all the inner sitemaps are showing up in your Google Search Console while clicking on “sitemap_index.xml” file.
If you’re still facing issues after trying these steps, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
We validated the sitemap using https://httpstatus.io/ and can see that it is showing a 403 error as shown in the image below:

Please follow the steps below to see if that works for you.
#1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
#2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
#3. If the above steps doesn’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter code to your site.
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:
https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/
In the meantime, the status message may indicate Google has yet to fetch your sitemap. Alternatively, it could mean Google cannot fetch your sitemap because of an error in the sitemap.
Please follow the guide below to troubleshoot the issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/
Let us know how this goes.
Thank you.
