redirections notice blocks creation of new redirections

Whenever the url of a post changes, Rankmath creates a new redirect and displays a notice in the admin. For example: “SEO Notice: You just changed the slug of a post and Rank Math has automatically created a redirection. You can edit the redirection by clicking here”.
Unfortunately, if I don’t delete this notice manually (by clicking the X), no new automatic redirections will be created.
This happens in all sites I have Rankmath installed. Is there a way to solve this issue?

    Regards,
    Ioannis

  • Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the automatic redirection notices in Rank Math. It seems that there might be an issue with the automatic creation of redirections after changing the post slug.

To resolve this issue, we recommend checking if you are using the latest version of Rank Math. If not, please update to the latest version as we have made improvements to the redirection feature in recent updates.

If you are already using the latest version and the issue persists, you can enable the debug feature in the Redirections Manager to identify any potential conflicts or issues with the automatic redirections. Here’s how you can enable the debug feature:

    1. Go to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Redirections.
    2. Ensure that you’ve enabled the Redirections module in WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO.

If you are unable to find the Redirections settings under Rank Math General Settings, then ensure that you’ve enabled the Redirections module in WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Dashboard → Modules.

Once you’ve enabled the debug option, open any page that is marked with the “Page with Redirect” status and follow the steps provided in our documentation to debug the redirections.

If the issue persists after enabling the debug feature, please let us know by replying to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Kind regards.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

We’re unable to replicate this issue with the latest version of Rank Math.

If the redirect is not working when the notice is displayed. The redirect is already created once the slug is updated.

Please try clearing your website and server cache for troubleshooting if they aren’t redirecting properly.

    Looking forward to helping you.

No, this is not what I described.

The problem is that no new redirections are created automatically, when the notice for the previously created redirection is not closed. It must be typical behavior because it is happening in all sites where I use RankMath.

    Is it more clear now?
