FAQPage being removed by Google?

Hello, I just purchased the PRO version recently because I want to make use of the FAQPage property. But I just found out that Google discontinues FAQPages such that “rich results will only be shown for well-known, authoritative government and health websites” – that is, not for my site since we are no such website. See here:

    https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/08/howto-faq-changes

So for me that means, I do not need to use the PRO version anymore since the FAQs won’t be shown by Goolge anyway. Do I understand that correctly? Thanks.

  • Hello, we’re sorry to hear about the confusion you’re facing regarding the FAQPage property. We understand your concern about the recent changes in Google’s guidelines for FAQ rich results.

While it’s true that Google has made changes to limit FAQ rich results to well-known, authoritative government, and health websites, it’s important to note that these changes are specific to the display of rich results only. The FAQ Schema can still be beneficial for your website as it provides a structured way to present information to search engines.

The FAQ Schema can help improve the visibility of your content in search results and enhance the user experience by providing quick answers to common questions. Additionally, the Rank Math PRO version offers a wide range of features beyond the FAQ Schema that can benefit your website’s SEO efforts.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with using the Rank Math PRO version, please feel free to ask.

What does it mean that the changes “are specific to the display of rich results only.”? I mean the display of rich results is the whole point of using FAQPage, or? Please give me some insight. Thank you.

    Hello,

Yes, the FAQ Schema is no longer applicable to most websites as Google has made some changes to this recently mentioned here: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/08/howto-faq-changes

So, for most websites there won’t be a need to have an FAQ and you should stop focusing on adding that as it won’t result in Rich Results for your pages.

Google will now show FAQs mainly for well-known government and health websites. If your site isn’t in these categories, your FAQs might not appear.

    Hope that helps.

OK, thank you for your response. In this case, can I request a refund for the PRO version?

We certainly honor our 30-day refund policy, and we’re happy to assist with processing your Refund.

We stand by our commitment to customer satisfaction, and we apologize if our service did not meet your expectations this time.

Please let us know any specific areas or features that you think need improvement or did not meet your requirements.

Nonetheless, we understand that our service might not be the perfect fit for everyone, and we respect your decision.

Once we receive your feedback, we will initiate the refund process promptly.

We really look forward to helping you.

As mentioned above, I purchased the PRO version because of the FAQPage. However, Google does not show rich results anymore.

    Hello,

Yes, that is fine. I’ve just escalated this request to the appropriate team, they’ll review it and get back to you.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation

    Hello,

As requested, we have initiated a refund on your requested transaction. You should see a credit for the refund appear on your credit card statement anytime between now and the next 5 to 7 business days.

If you used a debit card for the payment, the refund might take up to 30 days to appear on your statement. Please note that refunds for international transactions can take up to 10 days to appear for credit cards or up to 60 days for debit cards.

For PayPal, it’s always almost instant.

As of the month date, you won’t be able to access those PRO files in the member area on Rank Math.

Of course, we’re very sorry to see you go. If you don’t mind us asking, is there any particular reason you have chosen to cancel? Perhaps there’s something we can help you with.

We are continuously improving our products so we would request you to check back in the future to see if we might have something relevant to your needs.

We would much appreciate any feedback you have to offer.
