I keep getting red line as if I over stepped numbers of characters in meta description.
    It says for example 70/160 characters (1536px x 920px).

    Can you help?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you’re facing with the meta description character limit. It seems that you’re exceeding the recommended character limit for the meta description.

The ideal length for a meta description is 160 characters, and Google generally truncates them to around 155-160 characters. It’s important to keep your meta descriptions within this limit to ensure they are fully displayed in search results.

To help you stay within the character limit, Rank Math provides two tools. The first is a length bar that shows you the number of characters used and remaining. The second is a pixel measurement that displays the exact number of pixels your description will take on the search results page.

Here’s an example of how Rank Math displays the meta description limit:

If you’re seeing a red line indicating that you’ve exceeded the character limit, I recommend reviewing your meta description and shortening it to fit within the recommended range. Remember to make it descriptive and include relevant keywords while staying within the character limit.

It doesn’t matter how many characters I ad, length stays the same and red line. I gave this number 60/160 only as an example.

Can somebody from support team can answer this question, would be great!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

The reason you’re getting the red line is due to the pixels already at 1536px

Google doesn’t consider the number of characters when it decides to keep a title or trim it, it uses pixels.

Please, Stay focused. I am waiting whole day for an answer. Yes, pixels are in red. Thank you for noticed obvious. But why? If I ad 10 or 150 charachters, pixel length stays the same. Do you understand now?

If I delete whole meta description, no characters at all, pixel length stays the same.
