    Hi,

i use your plugin for months and everyting worked fine.

For a few weeks the snippet for my homepage “https://armo-immo.de” is not working. Google takes some text from the site and places it in the search results – before i filled the snippet part of the page and google took this correctly.
Now – what am i doing wrong – i followed some steps to correct it, google crawled it but again not showing the snippet.
Also your SEO-Analysator shows the correct snippet, but google doesnt.

I just checked google search console – even the description of my site is correct when i do the rich snippet test.

    What can i do?

    Thanks in advvance

    Richard

  • Hello Richard,

I apologize for the issue you’re facing with the snippet for your homepage. It can be frustrating when Google doesn’t display the correct snippet in the search results.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend following these steps:

    1. Test Your Rich Snippets: Use Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to test the presence of your theme’s rich snippets. This will help you identify any issues with the markup. Here’s the link to the tool: Rich Results Testing Tool.

    2. Configure the Schema Markup: Make sure you have configured the Schema Markup correctly using the Rank Math plugin. You can refer to our guide on Schema Markup for detailed instructions.

    3. Wait for Google to Re-index: After making any changes to your rich snippets, you need to wait for Google to re-index your pages and update its database. This process can take some time, even up to several weeks. You can check whether your pages are indexed or not using Google Search Console.

    4. Check Whether the Page is Crawled by Google: Ensure that the webpage on which the Schema Markup is present and valid is indexed/crawled by Google. You can check this using Google Search Console as well.

    5. Issues in Code: There may be technical issues with the code used to implement rich snippets. I recommend using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to identify and rectify any code-related issues.

    6. Quality Issues With the Site: Quality-related issues can also affect the display of rich snippets in Google search. Factors such as poorly written content, keyword stuffing, low-quality inbound links, slow loading speed, lack of mobile-friendliness, and excessive ads can impact the quality of your website. Addressing these issues can improve your chances of having rich snippets displayed.

Please note that even if your rich snippets are configured correctly and pass the structured data test, Google has the final authority to decide whether to display them in search results or not.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

This is a common issue that many Google users face these days. Google often changes the meta titles and descriptions of the web pages in its search results, regardless of what you have set in your meta tags. Google usually does this when it thinks another description on your page bests fits the search intent. For example, when using the site: operator, Google currently shows the correct meta description for your website, screenshot:

This shows that it can read the correct description but is choosing to use a different one instead.

This affects about 70% of the results and we have a detailed article that explains why this happens and how you can fix it: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

We also have another article that covers the Google update that introduced this change and how it affects your SEO strategy: https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

We hope this helps you understand the situation better and resolve the issue. Please feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance or have any questions. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!
