Good afternoon!
Since August 28th (when I updated RankMath), my website has not correctly indexed the news, neither in Google Search nor in Google News, I would like help as soon as possible.
-
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
From this sudden drop, it seems like your website got affected by Google’s algorithm update in August: https://rankmath.com/google-update/august-2023-core-update/
In this case, please refer to the following guidelines for how to confirm that and fix it: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/
However, if your latest posts are not getting indexed on Google then you suggest you check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site: https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues
You can share the error message or take a screenshot using this tool and add the link here so we can check as well.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
That’s not the problem! Since Rank Math was updated, my sitemap is no longer read by Google, as you can see in the image:
https://imgur.com/a/GEkxWXMIt always says that no pages were found, and as you can see in the image below it always found 20k+ pages:
https://imgur.com/a/6CcUwjVI urgently need help, my website is going bankrupt.
Hello,
It appears you have two different Google Search Console properties for your Site, one for the HTTP version (https://imgur.com/a/6CcUwjV) and the other for the HTTPS version (https://imgur.com/a/GEkxWXM). The varying results may have been caused by that. HTTP is now redirected to HTTPS on your site.
We tested your sitemap with https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html and no issues were detected:
And searching for your site using the
site:
prefix function returns about 21,600 results;
We hope this helps.
Thanks.
What you said about the HTTP or HTTPS property doesn’t make any sense, I sent the sitemap with http and https and none of them were recognized with links as you can see in the image:
I still need a solution, please help me.
Hello,
We apologize for the confusion. The issue of “Discovered URLs” showing “0” in Google Search Console is not something to worry about. It simply means that Google has already crawled and indexed the URLs on your site through other sources, such as internal links or external links from other sites. It does not mean that your sitemap is not working or that your site is not ranking well.
If you want to learn more about this issue and how to fix it, you can check out this article on our knowledge base: https://rankmath.com/kb/zero-discovered-urls-through-sitemap/
We hope this helps you understand the situation better. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again.
Thanks.
Can anyone help me with the above question?
Hello,
Upon checking we can see that news post URLs published in the past 2 days are added as expected to the news sitemap.
Only the posts/pages published in the last 2 days are included in the News Sitemap as per Google’s News Sitemap Guidelines.
Refer to Google’s News Sitemap Guidelines here: https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/answer/9606710?hl=en&ref_topic=9606468
You can also refer to this article for more information about Working With the News Sitemap in Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/news-sitemap/
If you still see that some posts are not appearing even after qualifying the requirements, then it might be a caching issue. Following this guide will resolve the issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
