Table of Contents Error

    Out of the blue, the Table of Contents block has stopped working. I was initially using the Rank Math plugin for the Table of Contents feature. I briefly switched to the Yoast plugin but decided to revert back to Rank Math. Since then, the Table of Contents arrow icon appears in the post view, but the actual Table of Contents is not displayed. In the editor, it seems to be functioning correctly. However, once the post is published, the Table of Contents is not applied in the post view. What should I do? Should I uninstall and reinstall the plugin?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    Looking at the issue on the website it seems that the JavaScript required to make the TOC block expand is not being triggered.

    Please note that to trigger the opening and closing of the TOC you need to add the following JavaScript as well: https://pastebin.com/jLTDeAWw

    I’m not well-versed in coding. Could you please specify where I should add it? Should I insert the code from the link at the bottom of the functions.php file?

    Hello,

    Yes, you should insert the code into the functions.php file of your site.

    Here’s how you can add it.

    In your WordPress Admin area, navigate to Appearance>Theme File Editor>Select the Theme Functions (functions. php) file from the sidebar on the right.

    Add in the code at the bottom of the page (before the PHP closing tag ?> if this is present)

    Click Save Changes.
