I have duplicate content on my sitemap

    Hello,

    On my site chatgpt.fr I have duplicate files on my sitemap, well I have two files for “pages” and “news” that are cut in two. I have part of the pages in file 1 and the other part in file 2.

    What can I do to have only one “Page” file and only one “news” file? I’m afraid Google will penalize me.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    This is absolutely normal because Rank Math automatically creates another sub-sitemap for your posts/pages if the count already exceeds the limit. This happens due to the Links Per Sitemap option we have in Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > General:

    Please note that Google crawls small-sized sitemaps faster. With this in mind, Rank math uses the links per sitemap limit to break down sitemaps into smaller parts and you’ll not be penalized for this. You can also check Google’s guidelines for sitemaps: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/sitemaps/build-sitemap

    However, we can see you’re currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin on your website, but the account you have used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

    Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your account and verify it?
