I am writing to seek assistance with an issue I encountered while trying to configure the RankMath plugin on my WordPress website.

Upon installing and activating the RankMath plugin, I proceeded with the setup process. However, I encountered a problem when I reached the “Connect to Google Account” step. At that point, I was unexpectedly logged out of the WordPress backend, and I was unable to log back in. The only way I could regain access to the backend was by deactivating all plugins using FTP.

To troubleshoot the issue, I decided to delete the RankMath plugin and reinstall it. Unfortunately, I encountered the same problem once again during the setup process.

I am reaching out to you in the hope that you can provide guidance or a solution to resolve this issue. It appears to be a critical problem that prevents me from properly configuring the RankMath plugin and connecting it to my Google Account.

Please let me know if you need any additional information or access to my WordPress backend to diagnose and address the issue.

Can you please share the error log with us?

The error log is a file that records any errors or warnings that occur on your site. It can help us identify and fix the problem faster.

To share your error log with us, please follow these steps carefully:
- Open your wp-config.php file. You can find it in the root folder of your site, usually in /public_html/ or /www/.
- Before the line that says /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */, add this code:
```
// Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

// Disable display of errors and warnings
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
@ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );
```
  This code will enable the debug mode and create a debug.log file in the /wp-content/ folder of your site.
- Go to your website and try to perform the action that caused the error again, i.e. try installing Rank Math again. This will trigger the error and generate the debug.log file.
- Go to the /wp-content/ folder of your site and look for the debug.log file. It should contain some information about the error that occurred.
- Send us a copy of the debug.log file. You can use a service like wetransfer.com or pastebin.com to upload it and share the link with us.

I will not do anything within the wp-config.php as I am totaly unexperienced in this field.

Thanks for providing the login credentials.

However, we couldn’t log in to your hosting server yet. The combination of username and password is incorrect.

Please confirm the server hosting details again.

We need this access to prevent any errors so that we can recover the website immediately if something goes wrong.

We have been able to replicate the error while activating the Rank Math plugin.

Hello Armand,

I tried installing Rank Math and verified that the issue occurs, on checking the error logs I see
function error_log() is missing but that’s a PHP core function, which means the issue is with the PHP installation on your server.

I see the only way to reinstall PHP or switch to another version (For Optimized WordPress customers) is through hostgator support at
https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/php-configuration-plugin

Could you please reach out to their support and share with us their response. Also let them know of the pastebin error logs you have shared with us under this ticket.
