Therefore, there is nothing to change or modify with its permalink as it doesn’t have a slug.

Are there any other options to Seo the homepage including its permalink edition? For example: create another customizable homepage or set a different post as the homepage? because the default homepage’s permalink is not permitted to edit.

There is no option to edit the homepage permalink as my colleague had said.
However, you can set any post or page as your homepage. When you set this new page or post as your homepage, its permalink becomes your homepage permalink.
For example, if you have a page with the link www.example.com/regular-page, When you make this page your homepage, it takes on the default permalink of your homepage which is www.example.com/.
