If my seo keyword has a hyphen, does non-hyphen also work?

    This is a very specific question, so please read carefully. I cannot find the answer in your knowledge base.

    NOTE: I am NOT talking about Hyphens in the URL.

    My SEO keyword uses a hyphen: How to Self-Heal

    Question 1: If I use the phrase without a hyphen (How to Self Heal) in body copy or in headings, does that still count towards my SEO score in RankMath? In other words, does the SEO score ignore hyphens, or are the hyphenate and non-hyphenate forms of phrases like “Self-Heal” vs “Self Heal” considered to be two different keyword phrases?

    Question 2: How does Google treat hyphens vs no hyphens in a keyword phrase, in H2, H3, and body copy – does it ignore them, or treat them as 2 different cases?

    1. Our plugin looks for an exact match of the focus keyword in your content so it will not consider self-heal and self heal the same way. To pass the test, you must use the exact match of the focus keyword in your content.

    2. Google treats “Self-Heal” and “Self Heal” similarly, focusing more on the words themselves than the presence of hyphens.
