redirection to /wp-admin

    Hello,

I am having trouble with redirections to /wp-admin
The urls I post in sensitive data field.

Please check. When disabling Rank Math Plugin it does not redirect anymore this url. I have a lot of url redirection issues in GSC signing up because of your redirection. Normally this should output 404, but somehow it is available, when Rank Math Plugin is disabled. It could be, that this url is a picture… I do not know, but it is very problematic that it redirects to /wp-admin.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query, and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Upon careful review, this issue may be related to the redirection rules set within the Rank Math plugin.

To diagnose and resolve this, please follow these steps:

Go to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections.

Carefully check for any rules that might be affecting the URL in question.

Please refer to the screenshot below :

If you don’t find anything there, please also check that page’s/post’s redirection rule in the page/post editor.

Please refer to the screenshot below :

By examining these settings, you may identify the cause of the unwanted redirection to /wp-admin.

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

this is not the problem. I have very few redirection and to test if they are the cause of the redirect to the admin section I deactivated them (showing up on Inactive tab afterwards), cleared/flushed cache of wprocket and tried again. Nothing changed, the 301 redirect to wp-admin still active.

But when I deactivate RankMath Plugin on the site, the redirect to wp-admin is gone. So I seriuously need help asap because on GSC the google bot is claiming errors and my website traffic dropped to 15%!

    Hello,

In this case we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Upon checking your site, it is already redirecting to your homepage which is coming from WordPress, and Rank Math is still enabled.

However, on your staging site, the issue still persists. While there are no entries in the redirections module in Rank Math, there are redirect entries from your .htaccess you can see in Rank Math > General Settings > Edit .htacesss.

You can try using the default WordPress .htaccess file as well for troubleshooting and check the redirection again. Here’s the default file: https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/

Let us know how this goes.

    Hello,
