    Rank Math free

    Hello,

Right now I am designing a new website using Divi Theme on a staging site. I would like to use Rankmath. Should I wait to install Rankmath when my staging site is live? Or can I install Rankmath on my staging site and start using it?

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support. We’re happy to hear that you’re considering using Rank Math.

Building on a staging site is a good practice and we recommend it.

Yes, you can install Rank Math on your staging site and start using it. You can optimize your content and settings on your staging site and then push them to your production site when you’re ready.

We hope this answers your question. If you have any other queries or concerns, please feel free to reply to this ticket and we’ll be glad to help you further.

    Thanks Jeremy,

I was just watching a video on first time set up for Rankmath.

Should I skip any steps when using Rankmath on staging site? Such as Google Analytics and Sitemaps? I feel like I dont want to connect that to my staging site?

I currently have a live website using Yoast sitemaps. I am also working on a staging site using Divi and I would like to be using Rankmath also. I’m just not sure when the best time to start using Rankmath is. I would like to use it on my staging site, I just dont want to have any conflicts with my live website if that makes any sense?

    Hello,

Yes, you can skip the Analytics part while using Rank Math on your staging site as it won’t be useful. You can configure it later on when the site is already live.

Regarding the sitemaps, you can still use Yoast sitemaps and disable the Rank Math sitemap module on your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

    Sitemap

Lastly, to ensure that the staging site will not affect your live site, you may need to ensure that this option is checked

    Discourage

By doing so, Rank Math automatically set your staging site to noindex with respect to that option.

    Hope that helps.

Okay, I have the one option selected on my staging site already, to disable search engines from indexing.

I would like to use Rankmath sitemaps instead of Yoast on this, I see that during the set-up there is a way to import Yoast data.

Can I use this feature to import my Yoast data and then dis-able Rankmath sitemap feature you have pointed to above? Since I dont need it on a staging site?

    Hello,

Yes, you can import your Yoast data as well and disable the sitemap feature of Rank Math.

    Looking forward to helping you.
