Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Rank Math plugin. You may refer to our changelog page here: https://rankmath.com/changelog/
Then go to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General, and make sure that the “WordPress Address” and “Site Address” have the same setup.
Meaning both URLs have the same exact protocols. They should be matching and not have a mismatch.
Now you will need to reconnect your website by heading over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Help, disconnect and reconnect your Rank Math account

If the issue still persists, please add the following filter on your website and then reconnect to your account one more time:

I did everything you listed, including adding the plugin and code snippet. It still doesn’t work. When I press the button to connect my account, all I get is a 404 error page. Do you have any other fixes for this problem?
I also want to mention, that my website is showing up as connected on the rankmath website. It is just not registering in my wordpress admin area and I am unable to use the features of connecting to google.
And yes, I already disconnected and tried to reconnect no avail.

Okay. I do want help with this and I will try the WP temporary login plugin. If I use that plugin, does that mean you wont need the FTP login? Please let me know, because I am not even sure how the FTP login works. I am not an advanced WP user. Also, I am using Wordfence Security plugin. If I use the WP temporary login plugin to allow you to access my files, do I need to change anything in my Wordfence Security settings? Right now, I have it set to require Authentication for any logins. How does that interact with the WP temporary login plugin? Thank you for your help.

We may still need the FTP logins so we can revert any changes immediately in case something happens on your site during troubleshooting.
You can get in touch with your web host as well to set up the FTP on your site and share the login information in the sensitive data section.
Regarding the WordFence, you may need to temporarily disable the 2FA (if any) you have set up so we can log in right away and investigate the issue further.
Meanwhile, please check with your web host if the ModSecurity (ModSec) feature is enabled on your server as it is possible that it is blocking the connection of your website to your Rank Math account. If yes, please disable it or whitelist Rank Math and see if that fixes the issue.

Thank you. It looks like my host does use ModSecurity. I will try whitelisting Rank Math. However, in order to whitelist Rank Math, it looks like I need an IP address. Can you provide the Rank Math IP address to whitelist?

I understand how to add the I.P. Address through htaccess. I found instructions and code for that. However, I don’t understand how to add the user-agent. Do I also do this through htaccess? And if so, is there specific code for that? Sorry, I am not an advanced user. Thank you for your help.

In this case, please get in touch with your web host and ensure that the ModSecurity is disabled or they are not blocking any process of the plugin.

I am using Wordfence Security. I checked the logs and it does not show that it has blocked RankMath at all. Hostinger is my host, but I’m not sure if I want to disable ModSecurity. I am looking at your instructions which say the following: “Please whitelist the IP 193.138.6.5 and the user-agent RankMathChecker/2.0.2; https://rankmath.com.” I understand how to whitelist the IP address, but I need further detailed instructions on how to whitelist the user-agent. Can this be done through code in the htaccess? If not, how is this typically done? Thank you
Also, I asked Hostinger, and they said it is not possible to whitelist Rank Math on their end.
I whitelisted the IP address and it still doesn’t work. I am not sure if it is safe to whitelist the user agent (and I don’t know how to do that anyway) and I don’t want to disable ModSecurity, since my website is constantly under attack. Is there any other way to connect to Rank Math? Should I abandon the Rank Math plugin then?
