WooCommerce question

    Rank Math free

    Hi there,

I am interested in rank math for various reasons, but not 100% sure if I understood the features correctly.

    1) Your plugin allows to eliminate the /product/ & /product-category/ base from WooCommerce. Does it create a dublicate eg. domain.com/product-category/t-shirt & domain.com/t-shirt and then redirect the old one to the new. Or is there only one url?

    2) Is there a feature that add rel=canonical to filter and search pages? If yes Is this compatible with my first question? (Is the rel=canonical also added to the knew url?)

    Thank you
    Kind Regards
    Tobie

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

    1. Our plugin doesn’t create duplicate pages. The default URL of the products and categories will be without the base once you enable those options. However, if someone tries to visit the old URL with the base then they will be redirected to the new URL to avoid 404 errors and indexing issues on your site.

    2. You don’t need to worry about your canonical because Rank Math automatically adds a self-referring canonical to all the pages/taxonomies that are set to index and that’s why you don’t have to set them manually.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.
