i dont know whether it is common issue or not. but below issue for my two domain.

The issue is, when i first submitted the sitemap with 10 article, it got submitted successfully, and it has successfully fetched the inside sitemap (i.e post-sitemap.xml and page-sitemap.xml).

however, after some day, due to some issue i have removed all the article. and wrote fresh 3 article. and then checked the sitemap status. i am not seeing any inside sitemap(post and page-sitemap.xml).

i see some default number. i tried resubmitting the sitemap, i am getting same default number. is this the bug in the rankmath auto sitemap generator?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the sitemap URL so we can check as well?

Meanwhile, ensure that your sitemaps are not getting cached (if not yet):

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

If the issue still persists, please try adding this filter to your active theme’s functions.php file:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Here is the sitemap URL : https://handynews24.com/post-sitemap.xml

And here is the video of the full process : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wkMjnj_o9OJtcu87Ow2AteYu39bAniaQ/view?usp=sharing

I tried all the above step, but still facing the same problem.

    Just to addup
    – i had even tried uploading the sitemap without the cache plugin
    – i have even reset the full website, by removing the site from hostinger and reinstalling it and adding all post again.

please help me, because of that, the pages are not even getting index. Even my old site also got affected because of this.

    Hello,

Apologies for the delay as this ticket seems to have been stuck in our drafts section for some reason.

After submitting your main sitemap, please give Google some time to crawl the sub-sitemaps and update the Last crawl date instead of removing the sitemap index.

You can monitor the “Last read/crawl date” column in the sitemap index as it will update the date when Google crawls your sitemap.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
