Hello,
Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.
This is happening because the theme you are using is adding an additional meta description to the website.
To remove this you can use the filter mentioned under the “Usage” section of the following page: https://developers.elementor.com/docs/hello-elementor-theme/hello_elementor_add_description_meta_tag/
The filter can be added to the functions.php
file of your active theme.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
This is happening to multiple sites I maintain that use Hello Theme, Woocommerce, and Rankmath.
It is only happening with Woocommerce product pages.
Has something updated recently?
Hello,
Yes, since the release of Hello Elementor version 2.7, the theme now includes a built-in meta description feature which is causing a duplicate meta description
We also received reports from other users that the issue is happening across different page types.
At the moment, we can’t add the Hook Elementor shared in our plugin to make it permanent. The meta tags are supposed to be added by SEO plugins. If they have added this to their theme, they should at least add a condition to check if there is an SEO plugin installed on the site or not.
Please use the filter shared above to remove their meta description and you can also ask them to implement a condition to not add the meta tag if there is an SEO plugin installed on the site.
We have checked on our end and the issue is also present with Yoast and AIO SEO. So no SEO plugin has implemented their Hook as this is something that should be handled by the theme itself.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
