Alternative page with proper canonical tag (AMP Pages)

I have noticed that there are 489 pages displaying the message “Alternative page with proper canonical tag.” I am interested in resolving these errors.

I have reviewed your knowledge base (KB) but could not find a solution.

I have added my pages under the “Sensitive Data” section. Could you please review them and advise on how I can resolve these errors?

Furthermore, the majority of these 489 pages are AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) pages. While I understand that this is not an error per se, I would like to clear them from my Google Search Console. Could you please guide me on how to achieve this?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As long as your canonical URL is referring to the parent URL, it won’t cause any issues with your SEO.

However, you may set disallow rule to your robots.txt file to prevent Google from crawling those URLs with utm parameter or amp pages.

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow: */?amp
    Disallow: */?utm_campaign=*

Here’s how you can edit the robots.txt file using Rank Math:

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.
