    Hello,

I’m getting an error when trying to save in elementor or even when I save in the regular wordpress page builder. The following error is showing up as /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user 418

Any idea what could be causing this, I have turned off most of the plugins I think would be causing this and also removed a few items from the functions.php file as well. But its still throwing this error? Could it be a hosting issue? I’m on Dreamhost with a VPS.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It seems that you are using Dreamhost as your hosting provider. Could you please confirm?

We ask this because that is one of the very few hosts that use the status code 418 on their request when they are blocked via a firewall and that’s what is happening on your website at the moment.

Here’s more information about the issue: https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215947927-How-do-I-enable-Extra-Web-Security-for-my-website-

If you are indeed using Dreamhost, please get in touch with them about this situation as they will be able to assist further.

You can ask them to whitelist this route:
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
