Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
I’ve checked your sitemaps, but they seem to be working fine.
However, there are some pages like /blog, /links and /coming-soon that should not be indexed as they seem to be duplicate/empty or does not hold value on your site.
In your category sitemap, this URL https://www.keithquinney.com/category/sample-category should be removed as well as the posts inside it as they seem to be just examples from your theme.
You can set them to noindex or redirect them to the proper URL (like blog-2)
You can also disable the /kadence_element-sitemap.xml on your Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > [Kadence] and remove it from your sitemap as the link inside it is just redirecting to your homepage.
Regarding the Open Graph tags incomplete
issue, this means that one or more of the required Open Graph tags are missing. In your case, the og:image
property is missing on your site.
To fix this, please set a Default OpenGraph image by heading over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta > OpenGraph Thumbnail.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hi Reinelle !
Thank you for your reply, I deleted the empty pages however during my site redesign i Got rid of several Blog posts and categories so i am getting 404 Errors and 4XX Errors. i would like to remove them from my sitemap but i don’t know how. I am looking at resources online and i can’t seem to find a solution. I am thinking of Generating a new sitemap but i don’t want to do anything that will make the problem worse. is there a way to remove all the post that are no longer active from the sitemap alone ? in regards to the Open Graph Problems,it tells me to upload a backup image for Social media but i am unsure what image is should upload is it a generic image of my logo ? or just a random image because i’m not sure how to be able to do that for each Featured image in my posts. I hope this provides some clarity.
Hello,
You won’t need to regenerate a new sitemap as Rank Math’s sitemap automatically removes pages/posts that are already set to noindex or 404.
If that’s not happening on your site, then your sitemap is heavily cached. In this case, please follow these steps to flush your sitemap cache:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
If the issue still persists, please try adding this filter to your active theme’s functions.php file:
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Regarding the Opengraph tags, you can upload your website logo as that option is set to be a default fallback and will be only used if you have not set a featured image or any image on your posts/pages.
If you have set a featured image on your posts, that will be used in the Opengraph tag by priority.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi Reinelle !
I attempted to flush the sitemap cache however it does not show me an area where i can change the number of links per sitemap. I have Attached a image for reference.
