404 errors on xml files on nginx blog in a subdirectory

    Hi – I can see the sitemap via the query: https://www.mutantpop.net/artists/?sitemap=1 and https://www.mutantpop.net/walk/?sitemap=1 but even though I’ve added your rewrite code to the domain’s nginx conf file, the xml redirects aren’t working.

    Now exactly the same server and almost the same domain setup runs these sites, and Rank Math sitemap works great: http://www.radioclash.com/sitemap_index.xml

    I have tried all your fixes – saving the sitemap settings with a change, permalink save, adding the transient cache function, and have disabled caching plugins (I use Supercache and Redis) and added the exceptions – nothing works.

    Only real difference is these blogs are in subdirectories? Are you sure your redirect code works for those cases?

    I’ve tried placing it in the main server { } part and also the location for each directory, neither works.

    Any ideas?

    Solved it – it was a weird Nginx issue, which affects one domain and not another. Not sure why, but removed the expired header code (I set xml files for 1h expiry for Cache Control) and it works.

    Not sure why that domain errors and the other using the exact same code doesn’t?
