Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
I have separated your concern into a new ticket so we can assist you accordingly.
The parameters
/?fbclid=are being added by Facebook when you are sharing your website URL (Facebook Click Identifier). You can check this link for more information:
https://www.glowmetrics.com/blog/what-is-fbclid-how-to-remove-fbclid-parameter-from-google-analytics/#grefSince the URLs are getting generated and discovered by Google, they are showing the error and it is fine since those URLs shouldn’t be indexed.
To figure out how Google is discovering those URLs, you should use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the URLs and figure out the referring page and remove the URLs if they are present.
If i delete these will it delete my home page?
Those URLs are nonexistent on your site, that’s why it’s referencing your homepage’s canonical.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Can you tell me if the link juice is being split between these pages? It seems to me that there are too many errors and this is developers mistake. Would that be correct? what would you do because what you’ve mentioned is above my skill level.
Hello,
Google will index only the URL version that is set as canonical. Other URL versions will not affect your website’s SEO. Links coming from external sources like Facebook are out of your control so it would be unfair to let them affect your website.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.
I think I can fix these four below through Google Analytics? is that correct? fbclid

Thanks
Hello,
Those pages contain the correct canonical which is pointing to your homepage.
Please note that the “Alternate page with proper canonical tag” is not an error. In your GSC report, it means Google recognizes these canonicalized URLs correctly, and there is nothing you need to do on your part.
You can also check this link for an explanation:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/177628076?hl=en&msgid=177888345Regarding
Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user, the canonical tag already points to your homepage as well. In this case, you can revalidate the issue in your Google Search Console, and give Google some time to recrawl your site.Hope that helps.
Thank you.
A) If “Alternate page with proper canonical tag” is not an error.
You say that in GSC report its not an error than why does it show up on Google console? Surely it has to be an error to show up as an error and asking me validate it when its fixed? What about this fbclid issue, can this be fixed through Google analytics? its quite clearly an error or issue or Google wouldn’t be recognizing it as an error.
Please note that you have sent me to a thread on a Google webpage but not actually anyone from Google. https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/177628076?hl=en&msgid=177888345
Hello,
Google shows the “Alternate page with proper canonical tag” message in Google Search Console to help you understand the current structure of your website and how search engines perceive it.
If you believe that the canonical tags are set correctly, you don’t need to take any action.
The “fbclid” is used for tracking, and search engines consider each URL with a unique “fbclid” parameter a separate page.
Implementing a canonical tag will signal search engines to treat all URL versions with different “fbclid” parameters as a single page, reducing the risk of duplicate content issues.
Remember, Google Search Console provides insights and notifications to help you improve your website’s search performance, and not every message indicates a critical error.
