Adding sitemap doesn’t ensure that you’ll rank first on certain keywords. There are many things needs to be done for improvement of the page. Some things you need to do:
1. Target reasonable keywords
2. Check the keyword intent
3. Write long-form content about it
4. Do on-page SEO
5. Target long-tail, question keywords
Please perform these actions and soon your ranking will increase.
