Social images not pulling through to LinkedIn (WP jobs)

    Hi there,

You are the second SEO plugin I have looked at in hope of solving an issue I am having, but the same issue has persisted with both so I thought I would ask for support.

I am basically trying to get Jobs (managed through WP Job Manager plugin) on my site https://www.kaneselection.com to show an image (our company logo) on their metadata when shared via LinkedIn. As an example, this is a job https://kaneselection.com/job/general-manager/ – when sharing to LinkedIN we see just the text and meta description, no logo. I have added the logo to use under titles & meta > Global Meta and also followed the setup wizard where it asked for a default social image – no dice.

Not sure what to try next or why this isn’t working? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Richard

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I tested out in my local environment with the same setting and it worked without any issue. When going through your website source code, I see OpenGraph tags are added but OpenGraph image tag is missing. Also, as you have already added the default OpenGraph thumbnail, I would suggest running a theme / plugin conflict to see if some plugin isn’t hindering the way the plugin works. You can follow the steps mention here: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Let us know how it goes.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi Sandeepan, I spoke also to my theme developers (Divi) about this and they said it might have been something to do with the WP Jobs Manager plugin, as I am noticing the issue on sharing Jobs to LinkedIn. So on speaking to the WP Jobs team, they explained that using a .SVG file as our opengraph image might have caused the issue, but also said it wasn’t anything to do with their plugin specifically. I changed the opengraph image to a .png file within Rankmath, but still nothing is pulling through to LinkedIn when we share eg https://kaneselection.com/job/general-manager.

WHen you said you had tested in the local environment without issue, please can you clarify what you mean? Were you a ble to share a Job link from the site and see the opengraph image pulling through? I have never been able to replicate that outcome in my own testing.

Thank you for any further assistanc eyou can provide ,

    Hello,

WHen you said you had tested in the local environment without issue, please can you clarify what you mean?

We have tested the same with the WP Job Manager plugin, and the og:image tag is working fine.

However, upon checking your site, there’s an og:image tag printed in the source code that’s why Rank Math’s unable to include it in your Jobs. Here’s a screencast for your reference: https://i.rankmath.com/v/WnHJDs

You can follow the steps in the guide mentioned by my colleague above to see if there’s a plugin generating the same tag.

If the issue still persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
