  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

For initial troubleshooting, please head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General, and make sure that the “WordPress Address” and “Site Address” have the same setup.

    Exact

If you have set it up with index.php, then your sitemap will also include it.

Please try removing that part from the URL, remove your sitemaps from GSC, and resubmit your sitemap URL there to see if that resolves the issue for you.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

tried all those ,nothing worked. I uploaded a different sitemap plugin and it works now through other plugin but I would rather use rankmath if possible ..
Not sure why it would not work . In my other site I have not updated rankmath since last year and it gives a different URL path to sitemap XML and that one works fine in google ..But the newer site with newer rankmath has a different URL path -index.php/sitemap_xml that google will not fetch ..old path on other site is –

.com/sitemap_index.xml and it is fetched by google ok ..

    Thank You

    Hello,

The sitemap is showing index.php/sitemap_index.xml because the whole website has the same structure i.e. https://konstruks.com/index.php/page-link/.

We need to remove the index.php and this could be added from any of the option. The most prominent ones are:
    1. Navigate to Settings > Permalink and see if there’s any instance of index.php in permalink.
    2. It may be due to “.htaccess” redirect.

I would suggest check both these places and see if there’s anything which might be causing this.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you
